Willemstad old town
Willemstad is a charming, colourful city. The architecture is a tropical form of Holland's style, with pastel colours. The buildings were painted in 1817 as Vice-Admiral Albert Kikkert got a headache from all white, in the sun radiating houses. Punda is the most important shopping centre of the island. You will find many jewellers, souvenir shops and, in the narrow streets, plenty of clothes shops.
On the quay, you'll find outdoor cafés where you can enjoy the view of cruise ships sailing in.
